The Darkest Minds
by Alexandra Bracken

How does the world react when a mysterious, unpreventable disease begins to kill 10 year olds in the United States? Horribly, that’s how.
This disease, scientists named IAAN, seemed to come out of no where and left the children who survived with something worse; uncontrollable and dangerous abilities.
In an attempt to protect the American people, the government has established a rehabilitation camp program where a child’s abilities is classified by color and their names are replaced with a string of numbers. But some kids have managed to avoid being sent to these horrific camps and are on the run. They search for a safe place, a place where kids can simply live without being persecuted- that are looking for Easthaven.

Follow the story of 16 year old Ruby as her parents send her off to a camp and she is forced to learn how to survive with her dangerous new abilities in a world where children are seen as the enemy and locked away, the President has absolute control, and no one’s sure who to trust.
